Job Role & Responsibilities

Role:

To prepare 2Wh layout, BOM & release EC ensuring correctness of interface points of different chassis system i.e wheel & brakes, suspension, frame, plastic parts, lights and power train.

Responsibilities:

  • Benchmark vehicle study
  • Vehicle layout preparation in 3D with given product brief
  • Working out design proposal in CAD of chassis system parts as input to Hz team 
  • Stack up analysis of interface parts to ensure desired fit & finish of parts on vehicle
  • Packaging confirmation of different aggregates in 3D considering DFA/DFS & stackup
  • Coordination with vehicle assy & PM for vehicle level test
  • BOM preparation & engineering change release

Competency Requirements

Technical/ Functional:

  • CAD preparation of frame, plastic, casting, forging parts
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process for Sheet Metal, Casting, Forging & Plastic Parts.
  • Exposure to test and validation methods and process of counter measures to issues observed during validation.

Behavioral

Specific expertise required for functional area :

  • Unigraphics : Drafting, Modeling and Assembly modules (CRITICAL)
  • Understanding of GD&T principles
  • Understanding of PLM software e.g. teamcenter
  • Good to have knowledge of 2Wh homologation requirements
  • Exposure to relevant design standards. (AIS, IS, JIS, JASO, DIN, ISO)
