Job Role & Responsibilities
|
Role: Product Validation Engineer
|
Technical/ Functional:
- Develop comprehensive test plans and protocols based on product specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate and conduct validation tests on vehicle components, systems, and assemblies, including but not limited to durability, electrical, and functional testing.
- Utilize test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition tools to collect and analyse test data effectively.
- Identify, document, and report any issues or anomalies discovered during validation testing
- Collaborate with design and development teams to implement corrective actions.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to identify potential areas of concern and ensure proactive mitigation strategies.
- Maintain test equipment, facilities, and documentation in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with CFT, suppliers, vendors, and external testing agencies to ensure timely completion of validation activities and adherence to project timelines.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to automotive validation testing, and make recommendations for process improvements and innovation
- Shall have strong domain knowledge in Electronics and other engineering principles

Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Proven experience in product validation, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and subsystems.
- Hands-on experience with various testing methodologies and equipment used in automotive validation (e.g., environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in designing hardware for low voltage (<60V), High voltage (>60V) and AC application as well.
- Proficiency in various simulation tools (SIMetrix, LTSpice, PLECS, PSIM, MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys Maxwell etc.)
- Knowledge of thermal, EMC, Signal and power integrity analysis
- Strong understanding of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
