Job Role &
Responsibilities
|
Role: EV Product Excellence Engineer
|
|
Technical/ Functional:
- Own end-to-end product quality and reliability performance of EV controllers from development through field operation.
- Design and develop electronics systems including Motor control unit, DCDC converters, BMS, Charger, Vehicle control unit etc.
- Proven experience in end-to-end product development, from initial requirements to production, with a deep understanding of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies.
- Create detailed design documentation, schematics, and PCB layouts.
- Experience developing hardware design that meets EMI/EMC requirements, well versed with or ability to interpret various industry standards.
- Ability to analyse schematics, PCB layouts, component failures, and perform circuit-level debugging using lab equipment.
- Lead end-to-end failure analysis of EV controllers and drive root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, FTA, Fishbone, and RCA.
- Analyze field, warranty, manufacturing, and vehicle log data to identify trends, recurring issues, and reliability concerns.
- Drive and track implementation of robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with Design, Validation, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams.
- Own product quality and reliability performance, present technical status to management, drive review meetings, and ensure timely closure of quality issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Design, Validation, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service, and suppliers to drive issue containment, root cause identification, corrective actions, and closure.
- Support audits and assessments related to design quality, product reliability, and process compliance.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, data analysis, reporting, and quality management tools.

Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Proficiency in quality tools, data analysis tools and techniques.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and subsystems.
- Proven experience in product validation, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with various testing methodologies and equipment used in automotive validation (e.g., environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, etc.).
- Understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, and design documentation standards
- Strong understanding of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
