Position: PPC Manager– Material Planner/Buyer (Forging & Machining)
Job Description:
SUMMARY:
PPC Manager – Material Planner/Buyer who will be responsible for leading the supply chain group to plan & execute production schedule that meets customer requirements ensuring efficient material flow across supply chain to support the current and forecasted production plans, regulating the product mix, minimizing supply lead time and effectively utilizing inventory.
RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES:
Operational:
- Lead the team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material flow from point-of-supply to point-of-use for the vendor components and sub-assly level parts required for completion of the final product.
- Driving the equilibrium between Supplier & Production Departments to achieve daily production targets without loss.
- Develop a model to assess long term component requirements against different planning scenarios vis-a-vis capacity of the Supplier in coordination with Materials Dept.
- Knowledge on SAP /Oracle etc
- Understanding of latest digital tools for logistics and warehousing improvements
- To understand, calculate and manage multiple risks (Domestic/ Global, Internal/ External) with respect to Material Planning to minimize the impact of material management on Supply, Production & Sales.
- Developing JIT supply using E- Kanban, Milk run supply etc.
- Lead the team for identifying and doing improvements by implementing best practices & latest trends in supply chain using tools like Digitalization/ IoT etc.
- Identify the constraints of Materials management which affect production targets and take necessary actions in relation to own the KPI of PQCDSME.
- Lead weekly/monthly Production Schedule meetings for regulating the product mix based on Runner – Repeater – Stranger models and share the rolling plan with all.
- Liaise with Purchasing, Production, ME, PM & Engineering to manage the Engineering change implementation for existing model and hassle free introduction of new model as per PM Calendar with Zero Non-moving during changeover.
- Liaise with Purchase, MIS, Finance for Vendor processes & Commercial issues related to PO, Logistics etc.
- Minimize excess and obsolete stock and ensure minimum financial liability.
- Actively contribute to the development and support of material planning processes and benchmark against best practices in the industry.
- Understand the BOM – Material consumption as per BOM and for correct material accounting.
- Carryout PIV for all factory and Vendor parts, Timely disposal of Rejections from Vendor and Factory.
- Create and review monthly reports of KPIs. Identify gaps and action plan for achieving the KPIs as per defined targets.
- Ensuring PPC Financial Indices within targets on daily/monthly basis by ensuring System for adherence & sustenance of defined SOPs & Discipline.
- Identifying opportunities for material flow improvements and implementing the same for optimizing the Lead time in supply chain.
- Identifying and implementing proposals for reduction in Component & Transportation and packing cost.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 8-12 years of experience in planning/scheduling in a large scale manufacturing environment
- Experience in automotive components procurement
- Knowledge in SAP MM & PP module is MUST
- Ability to thrive under pressure & Flexible towards work
