Job Role & Responsibilities

Role:  To carry out role of a purchase buyer.

Responsibilities:

Vertical Responsibilities:

• To be able to deal with vendors on issues related to
• Supplies, Capacity calculation, part costing, price settlement, Spares planning, development of proprietary parts like Forks, shox, brakes, Discs, catalytic convertors, Tyres, Throttle bodies, carburettors, sensors etc.

Horizontal Responsibilities:

• To take over category levels works of cost savings, cost projections, VAVE plan, capacity actions, vendor agreements, new vehicle costing, audit control parameter monitoring, investment compilation, system related parameters etc

Competency Requirements

• Technical/ Functional: Knowledge of various manufacturing processes involving proprietary parts mainly Casting, machining, plastic moulding, forging, assy, Painting etc
• Knowledge of capacity calculations.
• Knowledge of Cost calculations.
• Knowledge of development of proprietary parts like Forks, Shox, brakes, Brake shoes, Throttle bodies, carburettors vale guides, catalytic convertors, canistors etc.
• Eye for identifying VA/VE potential.
• Knowledge of price settlements with industry sources.
• Knowledge of Raw material price trends.

Behavioural

Should have flair to learn and implement new ideas. Should be able to take responsibility of coordination and leading on assigned project.

Specific expertise required for functional area:

Work experience of dealing (procurement and price finalization) with proprietary vendors.
