JOB DESCRIPTION: FACTORY MEDICAL OFFICER

 

Position Title: Factory Medical Officer / Occupational Health Doctor

Reports To: General Manager - Plant Operations (Support)

Location: Factory Premises / Occupational Health Centre (OHC) @ Waluj

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
  • Certification: AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health)
  • License: Valid registration with the State Medical Council/NMC.
  • Experience: 3–10 years in occupational health, industrial medicine, or casualty/emergency care.

Key Job Responsibilities / Expectations:

 

  • Clinical & Emergency Care: Provide immediate first aid and treatment for injuries/illnesses, manage on-site emergencies, and coordinate referrals to hospitals.

 

  • Statutory Compliance: Ensure adherence to the Factories Act (e.g., maintaining Form 7/32), manage Bio-Medical Waste, and maintain confidential health records.

 

  • Preventive Health Programs: Organize wellness programs, ergonomics training, and health education to prevent occupational diseases.

 

  • OHC Management: Supervise paramedical staff, maintain inventory of medicines/equipment, and support EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) audits. 

 

  • Duty Hours / Timings: He must be willing to do work in shifts as per Company’s guidelines & should adjust other colleagues during their leave periods.

 

  • Wellness Programs: Organize health awareness campaigns regarding hygiene, occupational diseases, and nutrition.

 

  • Computer Skills: He should have knowledge of Computer especially excel for data generation and its maintenance.

 

  • Record Keeping: Maintain confidential medical records and submit mandatory medical reports to management and statutory authorities during any audits / or as an when required.
