Job Role & Responsibilities
|
Role: Seating system Design Engineer
- Design and detailing of Seating system Parts like
- Cushion, backrest, Head Restraint
- Seat structure
- Sliding and reclining mechanism.
- Seat belt, Foam, soft trims
- Co-ordination with CAE team for analysis of seat parts, able to interpret results and providing countermeasures.
- Co-ordination with testing for successful physical validation of seat, DFM/DFA resolution, styling dept. for design/mfg inputs.
- Co-ordination with other design teams related to mounting scheme of aggregate parts.
- VAVE studies.
- Root cause analysis and resolution for internal testing, field and production issues.
- Interaction with suppliers and toolmakers for the development of new product to achieve desired quality for the physical testing of design.
- Should have completed one seat project cycle

Technical/ Functional:
- Product Design, detailing & development, metal, soft/hard Plastic, rubber
- Awareness of molds. Mfg. processes, Manufacturability of parts.
- DFMEA, DVP etc.
- Understanding of GD&T principles
|

- Initiative, Desire to Learn
- Effective communication skills
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within team environment.
|
Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Exposure to relevant regulations, Design Standards preferred.
- Unigraphics NX- Expertise
- Awareness of tooling, Jigs & fixturing, Materials etc.
- Exposure to Trends in Manufacturing
