Job Title: Electrical Battery Integration Engineer
Role Overview: Lead the electrical design and integration of high-voltage (HV) battery packs and systems for next-generation electric vehicles. Ensure electrical safety, performance, reliability, and compliance with automotive and global standards. Collaborate cross-functionally on the seamless integration of battery packs from prototype to production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the development, analysis, and integration of battery electrical architectures, including high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) domains, busbars, harness, connectors, and current sensing solutions.
• Develop integration strategies for Battery Management Systems (BMS) hardware: including voltage, current, temperature monitoring, cell balancing, isolation, and diagnostics.
• Ensure all electrical interfaces—HV, LV, data/signal—are robust, reliable, and manufacturable. • Validate electrical design against safety standards (AIS, ISO, IEC, UL); coordinate EMI/EMC and functional safety (ISO 26262) compliance.
• Lead prototype builds, testing, and commissioning of integrated battery systems; resolve issues in HV design, relay, fuse selection, interlocks, grounding, and insulation resistance.
• Optimize electrical layouts for cost, manufacturability, efficiency, and system-level integration.
• Oversee cable/harness design, connector selection, and electrical safety measures for crash, thermal, and environmental requirements (water/dust ingress, vibration).
• Support integration of control strategies: CAN, LIN, FlexRay communication, interface with vehicle control units (VCU), and diagnostics platforms.
• Maintain detailed documentation: electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface specifications, FMEA, test reports, compliance submission.
• Benchmark competitor solutions; drive innovation and improvements based on the latest technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Guide next-generation development efforts and troubleshoot escalated integration issues during product engineering, validation, and launch phases.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers; provide expertise on compliance, architecture, and hands-on hardware debug.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years proven experience in automotive or EV battery system electrical design and integration.
• Proficiency in ECAD tools (Altium, Capital, EPLAN, Zuken), circuit simulation, and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of cell chemistry, HV/LV architecture, power electronics, and BMS.
• Experience in validation and integration of battery packs with real-world vehicle systems.
• Familiar with global automotive integration and safety standards (ISO, AIS, UL).
Profile Standouts: • Excellent troubleshooting and system-level integration abilities. • Passion for automotive electrification and safe, innovative battery system deployment. • Strong communication skills and cross-functional team experience
