Background
i) Educational Qualification

Job Role & Responsibilities
|
Role:
To design and evaluate Suspension Mechanism, ride & handling aspects and its aggregates like suspension arms/links, Springs, Dampers, Strut, mounts, Bushes, ball joint for 3 / 4 Wheelers. Understanding of vehicle architecture, layout.
- Basic engg. calculations for all above components and system.
- Hands on exp to find out suspension hard points and optimising layout.
- Define component level DVP by calculating the forces and moments on component by interpreting data from ADAMS, vehicle level tests.
- 3D Modelling & 2D Drafting.
- Understand, apply, built in design for field service aspects and provide design support for field service.
- Consider cost elements, aspects in design parameters , specifications. Design optimisation.
- Interfacing with design, validation, CAE, manufacturing, development and service teams.
- Failure analysis, make / review simulation plans, c/m validation plans
- Reporting, Review, presentation skills.
- Complete design activities in line with project Schedules / development plans

Responsibilities:
- Design of Parts and Components in Suspension System ensuring part & tool manufacturability.
- Release of Designs (3D and/or 2D) for development.
- Evaluation of Designed Parts & Systems, and taking counter measures as necessary based on
- Virtual validation, manufacturability and assembly, serviceability feedback.
- Ride & Handling simulations.
- Physical validation feedback
- Timely action based on customer (Internal & External) feedback.
- Ownership of design to fulfil requirements of product and all next customers, stake holders

Competency Requirements
|
Technical/ Functional:
- Sound engineering base, particularly for design, materials, processes, theory of machines, metallurgy, modern mfg processes.
- Good foundation in Mechanics, Machine elements ,Strength of Materials
- Understanding of relevant manufacturing processes like Sheet Metal forming, fabrication, Casting , Forging, machining.
- Exposure to metrology and capable of basic measurements.
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy.
