Job Role & Responsibilities
|
- Hands on end-to-end design/development/ packaging of steering systems.
- Perform detailed design calculations: steering effort, rack & pinion sizing, gear ratios, strength, durability, and safety margins, etc.
- Conduct kinematic and dynamic simulations using MSC Adams.
- Support prototypes, vehicle testing, validation, root-cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and review work of steering design engineers.
- Collaborate with vehicle integration, suspension, brakes, manufacturing, testing, and supplier quality teams.
- Interface with suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and manufacturability targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and production requirements.

Competency Requirements
|
- Basic design knowledge of Suspension, Wheels & Tires
- Hands on experience of detail modelling, PLM tools. Using one of modelling software e.g., UG-NX (preferred), Catia, etc.
- Info on Python coding will be added advantage
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, GD&T, tolerances, and costing trade-offs.
- Practical experience with DFMEA, DFM/DFA, DOE, design validation, and root-cause analysis.
