Job Role & Responsibilities

Role:   EV Product Excellence Engineer

Technical/ Functional:

  • Design and develop electronics systems including Motor control unit, DC-DC converters, BMS, Charger, Vehicle control unit etc.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end product development, from initial requirements to production, with a deep understanding of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies.
  • Create detailed design documentation, schematics, and PCB layouts.
  • Experience developing hardware design that meets EMI/EMC requirements, well versed with or ability to interpret various industry standards.
  • Profound Knowledge in the application of quality methods such as 5 why, FMEA, 8D, RCA
  • Drive and track the implementation of robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with design, validation, and supplier quality teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis to identify potential areas of concern and ensure proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with CFT, suppliers, vendors, and external testing agencies to ensure timely completion of validation activities and adherence to project timelines.
  • Support audits and assessments related to design quality and product reliability.
  • Proficient usage of MS Office applications and quality management tools
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to automotive product excellence and make recommendations for process improvements & innovation

  • Proficiency in quality tools, data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, components, and subsystems.
  • Proven experience in product validation, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Hands-on experience with various testing methodologies and equipment used in automotive validation (e.g., environmental chambers, data acquisition systems, etc.).
  • Understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, and design documentation standards
  • Strong understanding of DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) methodology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
