Job Title: Plant Finance Partner (PFP)
Role Purpose
The Plant Finance Partner will be responsible for driving financial performance, cost optimization, budgeting, profitability analysis, and business partnering across plant operations. The role will work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and finance teams to ensure effective cost control, operational efficiency, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plant Costing & CAPEX Management
- Manage plant costing activities including in-house conversion costs, overhead allocation, and cost analysis.
- Validate PPC Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure costing accuracy.
- Analyze and monitor plant profitability and recommend corrective actions for margin improvement.
- Prepare, allocate, monitor, and control CAPEX and OPEX budgets as part of the Annual Business Plan (ABP).
- Develop subcontracting cost models, support commercial negotiations, and manage periodic rate revisions.
- Drive Production Cell Cost Management through CCM reporting and analysis.
- Monitor and optimize plant logistics costs and related financial controls.
2. Plant Finance Business Partnering
- Partner with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial discipline and operational excellence.
- Manage inventory valuation, controls, and working capital optimization initiatives.
- Monitor scrap generation, analyze variances, and support scrap reduction programs.
- Review and facilitate CAPEX and revenue Purchase Order (PO) releases in line with approved budgets and policies.
- Coordinate plant-level provisions and accruals with the Finance & Accounts team.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of plant-related financial and operational information to government and regulatory agencies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to plant operations.
3. Productivity & Continuous Improvement
- Lead cost reduction, Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), alternate process development, vendor optimization, and cost avoidance initiatives.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities and system improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Partner with plant teams to drive productivity improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
- Track, monitor, and report savings achieved through productivity and cost optimization programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on profitability enhancement and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost & Management Accountant (CMA/ICWA) / MBA (Finance).
- Techno-commercial background preferred:
- B.E. + CA / ICWA (CMA)
- B.E. + MBA (Finance)
