Role: Product Validation Engineer
|
Technical/ Functional:
- Design and optimize motor controllers, DC-DC converters (buck, boost, flyback, forward, LLC resonant, etc.), VCU, Charger, BMS etc.
- Develop inverter power stages, including 2-level, 3-level, and multilevel topologies with MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC/GaN devices.
- Optimize gate driver circuits, dead-time control, and protection mechanisms for reliable and efficient switching.
- Perform stability analysis, transient response testing, and loop compensation design for closed-loop converters.
- Ensure high power density, efficiency optimization, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
- Design multi-layer PCBs for power electronics applications, ensuring optimized trace routing, creepage/clearance compliance, ensuring minimal parasitic and optimal switching performance and thermal dissipation.
- Conduct worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Hardware Safety Analysis.
- Review schematics, layouts, and component selections with a focus on electrical design quality and robustness for EV controllers.
- Perform detailed simulations, worst-case analysis, signal/power integrity analysis, stress analysis and FMECA.
- Identify potential design risks and ensure mitigations are in place before release/validation.
- Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFT (Design for Test) principles are incorporated.
- Conduct structured peer reviews and generate design review reports.
- Ensure all designs meet automotive standards for EMI/EMC, thermal performance, reliability requirements and functional safety.
