Educational Qualifications

B.E/ B Tech/ M tech in Electrical or Electronics, having thorough knowledge in Electric vehicle and its energy systems/ machines etc

Job Responsibilities

  • Design Electric vehicles and its electrical/ electronic systems like energy storage, drive machine, control unit, converter/ inverter, charger etc. as per performance/ quality/ cost/ weight targets and plants manufacturing requirement.
  • Layout and packaging of parts in vehicle DMU considering all aspects of functionality and manufacturability/ serviceability.
  • Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including; design, prototype builds, vehicle test and production.
  • Conduct DR, FMEA (system/ design) and apply them in the design phase.
  • Define performance and reliability test parameters, procedures for such parts
  • Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term road maps and appropriate work plan
  • Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, weight.
  • Root cause analysis for quality issues using QC tools and countermeasure action
  • Define the overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically and take appropriate action to ensure targeted deliveries
  • Handling diagnostics & flashing

Competencies

Technical/ Functional

  • Proficient in system architecture design of Electrical Vehicle & different EV’s.
  • Knowledge of vehicle powertrain and the interfaces arising out of electrification.
  • Knowledge about automotive industry standards and regulations, applicable globally, in the field of EV
  • Thorough in basic theories and design concepts of different electronics and electrical components used in various EV.
  • Knowledge of vehicle harness design, wire size selection, high voltage/ power connectors & vehicle electrical insulation requirements etc.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and validation facilities for key systems like Li batteries, BMS, Electric Machine etc, hands on testing/ test set-up experience.
  • Software skills : Matlab, C,C++, CAN and CAD (UG NX preferred)
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Good understanding of all applicable standards/ regulations and their application
  • Knowledge in ISO/ TS standards for design, environment, information security and functional safety.

Core Technical Skills

• Expertise in EV Powertrain Integration .• Proficiency with CAN Protocol and vehicle diagnostics .
• In-depth knowledge of key EV Components (VCU, MCU, BMS, PDU, OBC, DC-DC Converter) .
• Experience with Wiring Harness system diagram design, development, and integration.
• Component Selection: (ECUs, Fuses, Relays, etc.)
• Bill of Materials (BOM/EBOM) Management
• Strong know how of homologation norms for EVs

• Understanding of UDS (ISO 14229) protocol for advanced diagnostics .
• Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) standards.

System & Architecture

• Strong understanding of High-Voltage (HV) and Low-Voltage (LV) system architecture and integration.

• Experience with architecture modelling tools like PREEvision or CATIA or any other

Processes & Documentation

• Experience creating and executing a DVP (Design Verification Plan) .• Participation in or creation of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

• Experience developing a SOR (Statement of Requirements) for components or systems.

Tools & Technologies

• Hands-on proficiency with Vector CANoe, vSygnalizer, Busmaster etc.
• Know ohow of PLM Software : (Teamcenter, etc.)
• CAD Software Proficiency: (Any of CATIA, Creo, NX/Unigraphics)

• Familiarity with calibration and analysis tools like INCA and BusMaster .
• Experience / Know how with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing environments.

Experience & Methodology

• Proven ability in vehicle-level Testing, Validation, and Troubleshooting.

• Direct, hands-on experience with Proto-Builds of electric vehicles .
• Experience in Supplier Management and coordination.
