  1. JOB PURPOSE

 

 

Facility Planning for Vehicle Assembly Processes for executing manufacturing activities as per Management targets including New Model Introduction, new line establishment, capacity & budget planning and continuous PQCDSM improvements (e.g. Process Improvements for establishment of 3P Controls, Output/man/DPR/RFT/Flexibility Improvement, VAVE Proposals, New Technology Adaption etc). Yearly Budget Planning & utilization including RFQ’s to the supplier, supplier finalization, PO generation, Receipt & Commissioning of Machines. Yearly Fixed Cost Budgeting & Procurement as per Requirements. Monthly Manpower Planning as per Production Volumes & Labor PO Budgeting. BOM & Engineering change (ECN) Study & Implementation. Driving the Manpower saving Projects through ECRS, Offloading, Automation. Role is also responsible for providing technical support to vendors for improving capacity, Quality and Productivity.

Educational Qualifications

BE (Mechanical) / BE (Production) from renowned institute.

Work Exp

Min:  3 years

Max: 6 years

Industry Specification

Preferably from Automobile OEM

Additional Requirements

Planning & coordination of various sub-assemblies at vendor end and Proving of the same, as per BAL standards.

Trouble shooting and exposure to Why-Why analysis, root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions

Ability to coordinate with multiple teams for resolving day to day assembly Q & P issues and with R&D for DFA and DFM, Engineering, CD/Materials for new product development.

Should have knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and analytical capabilities to analyze FEA reports to plan the corrective actions.

6. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Role Based - Std Library)

  1. Planning of Motorcycle Vehicle assembly operations / Vehicle assembly activities on conveyor

  2. Planning for line balancing (sequence of operations) / Manpower for conveyorized assembly- Knowledge of IE techniques, (Method study and time study /Most)

  3. Plan and implement poka-yoke and automation proposals in work area for PQCDSM improvements,
  4. Making of equipment, tooling’s & utilities lists and budgeting for the same. Preparation of layouts.
  5. Preparation of RFQ, synopsis of the quotations, Releasing Purchase Orders.
  6. Understand the safety requirements in installations & coordinate with contractors for safe and timely installation of equipment.
  7. Planning, negotiations, ordering, installation and commissioning new manufacturing facilities
  8. Shop / Cell Layout modification, improvements and material handling system in the manufacturing shop etc.
  9. Manpower requirement – estimations, planning and saving initiatives.
  10. Implement Engineering changes in existing models and interface with PPC / QA / Mfg shops for smooth implementation of the same.
  11. Responsible for generating engineering drawing viz process sheets, sub assembly drawings, semi-finished drawings etc.
