Job Title: MGR/Asst. MGR – Finance (Controllership & Taxation)

Department – Finance and accounts

Reporting to DGM – Finance

Location: Akurdi, Pune

Role Objective

To lead key controllership functions within the finance department, with a strong focus on indirect taxation (GST). The role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and driving compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements with focus on RBI Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Controllership & Financial Governance

Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounting, reconciliations, and reporting.

Ensure timely closure of books and preparation of financial statements in compliance with applicable standards.

Strengthen internal controls and support audit readiness across finance processes.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial discipline and transparency.Support regulatory reporting and compliance with RBI and other financial authorities.

2. Indirect Taxation

Manage end-to-end GST compliance including filing of returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C)

Monitor GST input credit reconciliation and vendor compliance.

Handle GST audits, departmental queries, and litigation matters.

Stay updated on changes in GST law and assess business impact.

Maintain documentation and records to ensure audit readiness and legal defensibility.

3. Process Improvement & Automation

Drive automation and digitization of finance workflows using ERP systems (e.g., SAP)

Partner with IT and operations to streamline tax and accounting processes.

Implement best practices in documentation, compliance, and reporting.

Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of GST law and indirect taxation frameworks.

Solid foundation in financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel, and tax compliance tools.

Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

Qualifications & Experience

Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred; candidates with relevant finance and tax experience may also be considered.

4–6 years of experience in finance controllership and indirect taxation, preferably in financial services, NBFCs, or banking
